Sarah DeWoskin is the Founder and Director of LEV Children’s Museum. Sarah is a
Jewish Educator, who has worked with children since she was a child. Passionate about
continuously exploring her own Jewish journey, she is a graduate of HUC-JIR’s
Executive Master’s program for Jewish Education. Sarah has worked in Jewish
preschools, supplementary schools, youth groups, camps, and more. Through LEV, she
is following her inner voice to create an innovative concept for engagement and
education for Jewish families in South Florida. Sarah is married to a reform Rabbi and
together they have three active children who are excited to explore LEV Children’s

Board of Directors

Eden Katz is a native Plantation-ite, born and raised. She is a mother of 3, wife, teacher, and social influencer with her side-hustle (ask her how she feels about 90210 anyday)! Eden was raised in a family that was deeply passionate about and involved in the South Florida Jewish community. She hopes to share that, not only with her own family, but with all of South Florida and beyond!

Valeria Michanie is a lifelong Jewish learner and professional Jewish educator, currently serving Temple Kol Ami-Emanuel. She holds an executive master’s degree in Jewish education from Hebrew the Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) and was an early childhood teacher in Israel and in Argentina for 20 years. Outside of professional interests, she travels widely, reads, writes, and enjoys living in Miami with her husband Yosi, a travel expert, and their three children. Valeria looks forward to being part of the museum as it instills a love and knowledge of Judaism and Eretz Yisrael in children and families.

Brian Karpf is a Florida Bar Board Certified divorce and family law lawyer and mediator, working in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Naples, and throughout Florida.  He is a partner in the firm.  Additionally, Brian serves on the Board of Directors of KidSide, whose mission is to provide funding to ensure that Family Court Services can continue to serve the needs of children and parents suffering from family conflict.  A South Florida native, Brian now lives in Fort Lauderdale where he and his wife are raising their two children to embrace their Jewish culture and identity.
